Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Memora ("the app") collects, stores, uses, and protects information when you use the app to capture, organize, search, ask about, remind yourself of, and export your thoughts.

Effective date: April 20, 2026

Privacy at a glance

Memora is designed so you can start in guest mode, keep thoughts organized on your device where supported, and send only the information needed for connected features such as AI organization and search, voice transcription, Sign in with Apple, subscriptions, security, and support.

We do not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising in the app experience described here, use data brokers, or perform cross-app tracking. This policy explains what information we handle, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.

Use of the app is subject to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

1. Who is responsible for the information

The app is operated by Kovacs Software Solutions ("we", "us", or "the company").

For privacy inquiries, email info@kovacssoftware.com.

For technical support, email support@kovacssoftware.com.

2. Core principle: start lightly, process only what the feature needs

Memora is designed so you can try the app in guest mode without creating an account. Some thoughts and preferences may be stored on your device, depending on how you use the app.

Some features require processing outside the device — for example AI organization, semantic search, Ask answers, voice transcription, Sign in with Apple, subscription verification, restore purchases, support, security, or abuse prevention. In those cases, limited information may be sent to our servers or to service providers, as described in this policy.

3. Do you have to provide information?

Using the app is voluntary. You do not have to provide information, but without certain details some features may not work.

For example, if you do not capture text or voice, we cannot organize or search those thoughts. If you do not sign in with Apple, you may not be able to subscribe or restore Pro access. If you do not complete an App Store purchase, Pro features may remain unavailable.

4. Types of information we may collect or process

We may collect information that you provide directly, such as account details, support messages, notes, voice recordings or transcriptions, and organization preferences. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

  • Account information, including anonymous guest identifiers and upgraded sign-in details
  • Thought content and activity data needed to organize, search, remind, and export the memories you choose to save
  • Technical and diagnostic data used to maintain reliability, security, and fraud prevention

More detail on each category appears below.

4.1 Information you enter or save in the app

This may include:

  • text captures, titles, summaries, and notes;
  • voice recordings you choose to submit for transcription;
  • thought types and contexts (for example idea, to-do, note, reminder, Life, Work) and folder placement (Projects, Areas, Resources);
  • reminders, due dates, and organization preferences;
  • Ask queries and related answers grounded in your saved thoughts;
  • export requests and other content you voluntarily enter while using the app.

4.2 Information processed for AI organization, transcription, and search

When you capture, organize, transcribe, search, or ask questions about your thoughts, the content and context you provide — and related processing settings — may be sent to our servers and to an AI provider so we can return structured thoughts, transcripts, embeddings, or answers.

This may include capture text, audio for transcription, thought metadata, Ask questions, and model outputs returned to the app.

4.3 Account, session, and identity information

We may process information needed to manage access, including:

  • guest or device-scoped identifiers used for free usage quotas;
  • session identifiers;
  • Sign in with Apple details if you choose to sign in;
  • identifiers needed to restore access or delete an account;
  • details needed to manage Pro entitlement.

4.4 Purchase and subscription information

If you use an in-app subscription or purchase, we may process entitlement-related information such as:

  • purchase identifiers;
  • subscription status and product type;
  • renewal or expiration indicators;
  • whether Pro features are active;
  • information needed to restore purchases.

Payment itself, payment methods, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and policies. We generally do not receive your full payment card details.

4.5 Technical and operational information

For security, reliability, quota management, abuse prevention, and diagnostics, we may process technical information such as:

  • IP address;
  • device type;
  • operating system and version;
  • app version;
  • general language and region;
  • user agent;
  • usage timestamps;
  • technical logs and errors;
  • free-tier usage quota data.

4.6 Support and communications

If you contact us, we may process the information you choose to share, such as:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • message content;
  • screenshots;
  • issue details;
  • files or other information you attach.

4.7 Device permissions

The app may request device permissions depending on the features you use, such as microphone access for voice capture or notification permissions for reminders. We do not access device content beyond what you choose to provide or authorize.

5. Sensitive content in your prompts

Thoughts you capture or Ask about may include personal, sensitive, or confidential details about you or other people.

Please avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed for the feature you are using. You are responsible for what you choose to submit. If a capture includes details you do not want processed, edit or remove them before saving or sending for AI processing.

6. How we use information

We use collected information to deliver capture, organization, semantic search, reminder, export, and subscription features, maintain access and purchases, respond to support requests, secure accounts, and improve reliability and user experience. More specifically, we may use information to:

  • operate the app and provide the features you request;
  • transcribe voice captures and organize thoughts;
  • power Ask answers and semantic search over your saved content;
  • manage reminders and today / needs-attention views;
  • manage guest sessions, accounts, and Sign in with Apple;
  • verify purchases and subscriptions;
  • manage free-tier quotas and Pro entitlements;
  • provide technical support;
  • diagnose issues and improve reliability;
  • secure the service and prevent abuse or fraud;
  • comply with law, regulation, or legal process;
  • protect our rights, users, or others.

7. AI processing

Organization, transcription, embeddings, semantic search, and Ask answers may use automated processing and third-party AI services.

AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or a poor fit for your situation. You remain responsible for reviewing organized thoughts, reminders, and answers before relying on them.

More detail on providers appears in the next section. Additional information about processing may also appear in the app or related disclosures from time to time.

8. Third-party services and providers

Memora may rely on service providers for infrastructure, AI-powered generation, authentication, analytics, subscriptions, payment processing, and communications. These providers only receive the information reasonably needed to perform their services on our behalf or as part of your direct relationship with them.

Apple

App distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and related platform services may be handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy practices.

RevenueCat

We may use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status, entitlements, and purchase restoration.

AI providers

We may use AI providers (for example OpenAI or similar services configured for the app) to transcribe audio, organize thoughts, create embeddings, and answer Ask queries based on the content you submit.

Cloud hosting and infrastructure

Our API and related backend services may run on cloud infrastructure providers that host and process operational data needed to run the app.

Email and support tools

If you email us, your message may be processed through our email or support systems.

9. On-device storage

Some content, such as locally cached thoughts or preferences, may be stored on your device. Local storage is controlled by your device and operating system. Deleting the app may remove locally stored content.

10. Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the app, with Apple or payment partners as needed for purchases, when you ask us to, or when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.

11. International transfers

Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our providers operate. Where required, we take appropriate steps to protect transferred information in line with applicable law.

12. Retention

We keep information for as long as necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, the feature involved, and whether an account remains active.

13. Deletion and account

You may stop using the app at any time. If the app provides account deletion, you can request deletion through the available in-app flow or by contacting support.

Deletion may remove account-linked information, subject to this policy, legal requirements, and information we must or may retain for security, fraud prevention, accounting, disputes, or enforcement.

Deleting an account in the app does not cancel an active App Store subscription. Cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. To exercise available rights, contact us at info@kovacssoftware.com.

We may need to verify your request before responding. Some requests may be limited by law or by the nature of the data involved.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Security incidents

If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps and provide notices where required by applicable law.

17. Children's privacy

Memora is not intended for children under 13, or under the age required by applicable law to use the service without parental consent, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

18. Marketing, advertising, and tracking

We do not currently use the app to send marketing emails or run third-party advertising trackers inside the product experience described in this policy. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any required notices or choices.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or by other means.

Continued use of the app after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated policy, subject to applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the app.
